WWW- World Heritage Project Day 1

Monday Dec. 14th 2009

I went to the World Heritage building on Spadina with a group of people from my school to work on an assignment the World Heritage Project gave us.
"You will listen to a woman's story and then portray it using different mediums of art."
That is when I met Joy. She's a 60+ woman originally from Kingston Jamaica. She became a Canadian citizen after her mother was employed by a Jewish family in Toronto (and they wanted to keep her for more than two years). Joy grew up and went to public school in Toronto and got a job as a dishwasher. As she got older, she studied law and was married twice and divorced, giving birth to eight boys, and they all lived together in Regent Park with her mother. Then she left her job in a clerk's office and got into a relationship with the wrong man. They travelled all over the US together and she later found out he was a drug dealer. Then one day he invited her to go to London with him, and she said yes, only to later be ditched by him in the airport when they landed. Security found drugs stashed in her bag and she was sentenced to eight years in prison in the U.K. The whole time, her children had no idea where she was. After three years of working hard and head chef in prison, the Canadian embassy finally found out where she was and she was brought back to Toronto. She later got a job at a restaurant and is currently head chef (<-Just a summary of her life).

Her youngest son, Clifford, was also there with her and has had a succesful career for someone who has grown up in Regent Park. He started his own record label company, which can be found on Youtube (tiltrocktv) and his band's name is Point Blank (a band made up his seven brothers - he produces the music) and was nominated for a Juno Award for his music video Born and Raised in the Ghetto.

The goal for the group was to listen to her (I filmed it) and we were to put something together to portray her life and raise awareness. So I decided to make a video using photos and clips of Toronto, clips from Joy's speech and her son's song Born and Raised in the Ghetto playing in the background. Work period on Tuesday.

- Weather was terrible, arrived home late and got in trouble. Haha.

Ah Star Trek 2011 and more!

Only one more school to apply to wow! I can't believe I've made it this far.

So Buckman just informed me that the sequel (haha squeakwel - Alvin) is coming out in 2011 and he said, even if I'm in Quebec and he's in Toronto we're still going to meet up to see the movie. OMG.

New topic, since I am so Star Trek obsessed, you're probably tired of hearing that. And I'm no good at regular blogging (as you can tell...) but yeahhh.

We had our first snowfall two days ago (record!). It has taken so long for the snow to get here! And now it's just damn cold.

I have been sooo tired lately. Probably because school is ending next week and they aren't giving me a damn break. I have to keep my average up too so that I can be a top scholar this year, so I can't slack off, or I will cry. You can bet on it. I've had to preform in two concerts (vocal) and an improv competition and I am wiped! But a good, relaxing weekend is up ahead!

What do I have to do this weekend?
  • Finish my English Essay
  • Finish my Play for Writer's Craft
  • Draw a Christmas card for the following people: Mom, Dad, Gramma, Gramma (2), Calum, Buckman, Keiko, Dakota, Liz (?), Sam, Spencer, Mr. Biggar, Shem, and Ms. Churchman...I don't know if I'm going to do ALL of those... but I deffinetly HAVE to do ones for: Churchman, Biggar, Buckman, Keiko, Dakota, Sam, Shem and Spencer - the other five can wait.
  • Go Christmas shopping for: Dakota, Buckman, Spencer, Keiko, Shem, Mom and Dad (I have presents for Biggar and Churchman)
  • See my horse.
  • Get a haircut
  • Finish my webcomic 2009 page for MLS ( - Is sooo late.)
  • Get pumped for WWW (see below)
  • Sleeeeeep. Zzzzz...Zzzzz...

Well aside from the Star Trek excitement I think I'm pretty chill this weekend.

WWW- WWW means Week Without Walls. I don't know a ton of the info but I plan to post my adventures every day for the three days that I will be filming in Toronto -tahtah.

STAR TREK -- TUESDAY -- WAAAH!

Universities

This is all very confusing.
I feel freedom right at my finger tips, but is there happiness along with that freedom?
Will all this hard work pay off?

I need to find a suitable job this summer. What should I do? I'd like to make enough money to by myself a new computer, so my parents don't have to. But it has to be a good computer, that I can go to school with and play the sims2 and the sims3 on...

I visited Queen's University.
Big. Scary. Beautiful. Open. My second option right now.

I visit Glendon College on Monday.
I assume the same will come of it.

Recieved a parcel today after a long wait, only to find the sender did NOT inclue my last name or the correct street number - hahahaha. Two manga for me to read.

I really need to update my comics. I promised them all I would.

Dolly and I went to school together on Halloween, so far I have recieved no proof to show you.

I went to a Thai restaurant yesterday and wished I was in Asia with my relatives. That is my second most wanted place to travel.

Lots and lots of homework.

Very tired. Just like my dog.

Family troubles - in and out of the hospital.

I just felt a twinge of remembrance...oh I think it was to tell you and remind myself that I must write the beginnings of a play this weekend. Study of Eastern/Western Germany and the Berlin Wall - here I come!!

Thanksgiving...

Every time I think of this word, I see orange and I taste squash.

We got away from everyone and everything last weekend by hikin' it up to Toronto where my brother, mom, dad and I stayed at the Westin Harbor Castle for Saturday and Sunday [Saturday night only]. The weekend consisted of new pants, spent money, adding to the manga collection, pining for a MAC computer, moping about my graduation present and eating good food. I also went with my mom to see Vanity Fair's selection of magazine photographs at the ROM.

My aunt, two favorite cousins and uncle left on Sunday for their trip to New Zealand, which is sad. I will miss them all. But hopefully I will see them next year, hopefully before I graduate.

Yesterday we had the grandmothers over for Thanksgiving Dinner. I made squash gnoki, and mom made beat and goat cheese salad to go along with it, dad barbequed some lamb and one of the grandmas brought over pumpkin pie and ice cream. In all it was very good and very tiring. And I didn't do any work on the weekend so I'll have to catch up tonight...which will comprise of:
  • editing an essay for someone
  • editing my own essay
  • doing my online homework for my psychology class
  • completing a journal entry for my Writer's Craft Class
  • memorizing a drama monologue (probably not)
  • reading the Hound of the Baskervilles
  • and watching House.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with some people at Sick Kids Hospital...lots of reading, lots of homework. And maybe you'll get an update on the day!

Toodles;

One Issue Solved.

Much to my dismay, the kidney stone WASN'T too small to cause problems. My doctor told me it was very tiny and I wouldn't feel anything, but when it "passed" this week, I was dissapointed in my town's medical facilities...
Only a little.

On a lighter note, I have decided to write a murder mystery for my younger brother [who doesn't read much], for writing practice. I think it will be very good for me.

I have finished "Life of Pi", and was again, dissapointed. I recommend skipping the last ten chapters [they are very short, for there are a century's worth of tiny chapters, therefore, you die at ninety and miss ten years worth of suffering from the reality of things]. But now I venture on to read the "Mystery of Edwin Drood" which is more to my liking so far, though, I've never read a Dickens novel so it is a little different to say the least.

Today I must and will visit my equine friend [haha, or simply put, horse] and dwell on the fact that my last year of secondary school education begins tomorrow. I will let you know how it all goes after the fact.

Toodle-pip, as I used to say.

A Little Something Nice + Updates on Sundays from now on!

Sanity Thief is currently showing pages from Ch. 03 - Identity;
My Little Sushi is currently showing pages from Ch. 1 - Eight Years Worth of a Nightmare

So I thought, as something nice, I would post a journal with some recently finished artwork and I think I will post webcomic updates on this blog from now on, so I can get some usage out of this baby. For starters, here are some recently edited scences from both my comics [top: Sanity Thief Ch. 3 - Page 7; and bottom: My Little Sushi Ch. 1 - Page 1]:

Sanity Thief: Mystery man compares his identical tattoo with his victim's.

My Little Sushi: Dream sequence, the wounded man.
It's been a pretty uneventful week. I decided when to update what on my computer: M.L.S. on Saturdays, Blogg [Rant of Insanity] on Sundays and S.T. on Sunday nights :D *dances*
Let's see now...this week I - oh! I began [seriously] reading the "Life of Pi" which doesn't interest me at all really. I put my room back together on Monday - posters and all.
On Tuesday I got my haircut and picked up a friend so we could hang out together, and she slept over at my house and played 8 million rounds of Mario Kart Double Dash.
On Wednesday I said hi to my uncle Paul, who recently came down from Whitehorse, Yukon, and it was great to see him.
On Thursday I got punched in the nose by my brother [by accident I think>.>] and I heard a crack! but I haven't noticed any bruising and my nose isn't crooked, though it does hurt a bit.
Yesterday I went and drove to the horse barn, visited my horse, updated my webcomics and went to bed.
And today, I went to Toronto, traded in some books [which my brother has read, but I claimed that I got them as a present and didn't want them] and got three new books; Vampire Knight vol. 6, Black Bird vol. 1 and The Mystery of Edwin Drood [Charles Dickens]. Tonight we dine on Pizza and ice tea!
If anything aweskme happens to me, or I come to a great realization, I will share it with you. Now I must read, and read and take some pictures of my doll! Adios.

FanExpo Recap

Got back from FanExpo CAN on Sunday night! Sorry for the delay in posting!...
Very busy there. Not as many cosplayers either...lots of vulcans though, lots and LOTS of vulcans...crazy actually.
I went with Fae [from dA] she dressed up like Tohru and I was Kyou Sohma from Fruits Basket. Sooo fun! Though Fae said she looked more like Aerith from FF7...>.>We both met Brad Swaile [Light Yagami -DN- or Dearka -GS-...or whoever else...] unfortunetly we didn't meet Leonard because he wanted $60 bucks for his autograph...and I didn't want to see him that badly.
I did return with a good haul of figurines, posters, prints etc.
And on Sunday I went to a doll meet! My first one...it was a bit bizarre...everyone was like 50. That being said, I did meet one other person [15 yrs. I think] who was farely sane...
Anyhoo! S'all for now.

Christmas in August

I find it strange that sometimes, I can't really speak to my family. I can meet people and make friends at the blink of an eye, but talk to my family? No siree. I am regarded as the bossy, older, eccentric, girl cousin to most people. And I think I know why too, because my interests are so different from the rest of my family (hell, they don't even know what anime is, really). While they play hockey, I'm drawing webcomics. See? Not really a perfect match. Though, I didn't have the chance of searching EHarmony for my relatives.

On the subject of relatives, my family hosted "Christmas in August" this year. It's our first time and I think it worked out just fine. I folded the napkins into rose-shaped oragami designs (hahaa) and thoroughly enjoyed it, I am proud of the fact that I can fold napkins. And I SHOULD BE. We ate lots of food, which is always good. This is the bonus of having Christmas in August with the big family and Christmas at Christmas with my close family...I get two AWESOME meals. Funny thing though, we assign certain parts of the meal to different family members, and my mom was supposed to do the meat, which she did. Aside from delicious beef tenderloin, she also made medditeranian beans, golden beet salad and pasta with homemade pesto. Gotta love Mom.

I'm thinking of writing a story for my brother. And not the whole damn thing at once, but write a chapter a week or something and gradually write him a little story. But now I have to think, okay what is he interested in? Will he like my weird characters? What genre shall it be? I'm thinking horror or suspense at least, just because he's never read any of that. And I will work on the first part today! Whilst doing laundry! Woohoo!

Of to launder the laundered laundry! PeterPiperpickedapeckofpickledpeppers. Apeckofpickledpepperspeterpiperpicked. IfPeterPiperpickedapeckofpickledpeppers, where'sthepeckofpickledpeppersPeterPiperpicked?

Musical Theatre School!

I'm home from Musical Theatre School and what a blast it was! So much stuff happened, and I had such a great time, I even cried on the last day. I made a bunch of new friends, and gained a lot especially preforming-wise, it was superspecialawesome. We wrote our own scripts, lyrics, music and choreography for a musical version of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," which took place in the 40's. Good times. I got to play Bottom. Ahahaha, so fun.

More on the subject later.
Also, I DID preform the song "Two Ladies" from Cabaret, for our SS talent show. It was a hit, apparently.

That's me with Helga (right) and Olga (left)

On another note, I won some contest for my friend, with this picture:

It won him six autographs from a Korean team called SKT1 - Team Liquid, and some more stuff like a plushie etc. So I was happy that my drawing won! Woo!

That's all for now, I hope to upload the music we wrote later, so toodles.

More Medical Musings!

Hiii!!
[My shift key doesn't work very well - my apologies.]

So! I went to a hospital in Toronto yesterday to get checked out, and well they still don't know what I have but at least they are trying.
On Wednesday I went to the hospital for my appointment, my booked appointment was for 11:30 a.m. and I didn't see Doctor Kirby until 3:00 p.m. I got my blood taken and a chest x-ray, was asked a million questions and was told to come back the following day at 8:30 in the morning for 3 ultra sounds, one ENA test and a bone-marrow biopsy.

Seeing as I lived two hours away from the hospital [not in rush hour] I didn't really have time to go home and then turn around the next morning super early.
So I stayed in the city overnight.
Without clothes.

My mom and I went and bought necessities and I got a new shirt and we went back to the hospital the next day (today) and I got all my stuff done and we left at 4:30 p.m. and then I went to Whitby and bought the sims 3, a drawing pad and two manga and a dvd the night before at a chapters.
Yay for adventuresome weekend!

toodlepip.

Star Trek Comic Mini Series - Stardate: 05.28.09

Stolen from IMDB:
Another ‘Star Trek’ Comic Book Miniseries Is Incoming — ‘Spock: Reflections’
From Splash Page: It’s been nearly a month since
J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” made headlines for its impressive opening weekend, but Trekkies old and new still have plenty of unanswered questions when it comes to the rebooted franchise — especially concerning the reimagined histories of its main characters. In that shared spirit of curiosity, Idw will release a new four-issue miniseries centering on Starfleet’s favorite half-Vulcan entitled “Spock: Reflections” beginning in July.
Written by Scott Tipton and David Tipton ("
Star Trek: Mirror Images") with art by David Messina (”Star Trek: Countdown“), “Reflections,” aims to round out Spock’s origins by shedding light on his activities leading up to the events of the film, specifically his childhood on the planet Romulus.

Recipes and Paper Dolls - Stardate: 05.22.09

Check out this site: http://www.spocklives.com/diet.php to understand the Vulcan diet...

Plomeek Soup:
Plomeek soup is perhaps the most well known of Vulcan's dishes. This dish is completely vegetarian, in accordance with the Vulcan diet. This is the soup Nurse Christine Chapel had hurled at her by Spock in the episode Amok Time. In the Enterprise episode Unexpected, it is described as being traditionally a morning meal.

Ingredients
1 cup oninion,finely chopped

5 cups celery, chopped
4 cups carrots, peeled and chopped
1 cup potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine*
4 cups VEGETABLE broth
5 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon ground peppersalt to taste

Directions
In a heavy 8 quart soup pot, sauté the chopped onions very slowly in ½ cup margarine (or butter). When onions are transparent, add the remaining ½ cup margarine and the carrots. Let carrots brown on low heat for aproximately 30 minutes. Once carrots have browned (about 30 minutes), add all of the celery and continue cooking on low for aproximately 10 minutes to allow celery to soften. Next add the vegetable broth, pepper, and salt, and then stir through. Cover and let soup simmer for approximately 1 hour. Serves eight.
* To get the true Vulcan experience, it is recommended that you use a non-dairy maragarine. For more information, please see
The Vulcan Diet.

And a paper doll for your own amusement...

Crunch Time

Wow, so it's been a while. Hasn't it?
I was being very good, staying off the internet whilst I was susposed to be studying for my AP Mock Exam, let me explain how it works and what's coming up (as to not expect TOO much of me):
  • AP exams are shitty, especially in Canada. After I explain this part, you'll probably find the usefullness of doing exams twice, but I still think it's a waste of time. Here in Canada, if you take an AP course - you do two exams of the exact same format. First you do a Mock exam which counts as your mark on the report card, then you do the actual exam that is sent of to AP world in the states. - On the registration form they ask for useless things too like Ethnicity and school degree of your parents... - I did the AP French Language Mock Exam today, I'm not even that stressed because since I hate French class, I've been doing poorly all year (well not TERRIBLY, just poorly, because I hate it) so I have the next exam (the "REAL" one) on May 4th, then I have a core exam to and my teacher will take the highest mark we get for our report card...That's right THREE exams in the same subject!

  • Moving on... I have a lot coming up - on Monday I have to present a few music tunes (which I not ready for (figures) -_-) and I have to write up a presentation handout for my bio presentation - which was put on the same day as my Bio quiz by my teacher (who knows I suck at bio and now I have to do a quiz AND a presentation) and I also have to memorize a fake testimony for my grade 12 (we call it Y4 - year four) Law Mock Trial (there are three in total this is just the first one)

  • On Tuesday I have to have the play Sister Mary Ignatius Explains it all for you because my exam monologue is in there and I have to memorize THAT at some point and also I have to memorize a monologue from The Last of the Red Hot Lovers in which I play Elaine and I have to have it all memorized for Tuesday

  • Of course I have a lot of other work too but thats just the first half of the week...

  • After class today I have Ultimate Frisbee which will be an epic fail because I am so tired.

  • Also I am being tested for viruses such as Mono - so hopefully SOMEONE will find out what the hell is wrong with me

Sorry for the rant...but it's still an update.

Have a chill weekend...cuuzzz I won't be. :D

Peace - M

FLA photoshoot - Abridged Version

I haven't updated in a while! Sorry about that. Anyways, I thought I'd post these before I completely lost interest.
While I was in FLA, I took a LOT of pictures, but I picked five, just like a photostory of my trip or something :)
I don't know where to post all of the pictures, but if you have any ideas that are quick and easy, let me know.
Thanks,
- M

Silas has arrived!

There he is! Isn't he handsome? That's right - got my very first BJD today - he's a Luts KidDelf [4ocm] BORY boy, whom I've named Silas Ulysses Mihr, or Silas for short :) He's quite the cutie all decked out in his Poet Suit and his Nightmare Before Christmas shoes from Dollmore.
That's him in his box, or as my dad refers to it, his coffin. He looks absolutely exquisite in his faceup and red wig too ^-^

So this blog was just a "Thanks Luts!" message, and a greeting from Silas.

F.L.A. - Day 13 2009

Wow, last full day here...

I'm still here until 2:30 tomorrow, we get vacated from the cottage at 10:00 in the morning but we don't need to leave the property for the rest of the day. So I won't be HERE I'll still be at the resort, but by the pool. I MIGHT go swimming too :D
I drew one comic page last night and four today :B I also redid the filler page for chapter 3 aaaand I drew my character chibis last night.
Umm today, I did nothing, woke up at 12:00, fixed lunch, watched the Y & R. My dad left today for home, as he has Rotary tomorrow (and is the president) and doesn't want to miss many meetings. Then I had my shower and my parents left for the airport. That's when I watched my brother game, and then I drew a lot (it was 3:00 by then), we went outside and threw a frizbee around, and then I came inside I drew some more...
I packed my bag this evening, and ordered in pizza and watched an old episode of House.
It will be good to be home tomorrow, I will get to open my doll !! ^-^ But I will miss the luxury of drawing. But there is more good news! I'm getting a scanner/printer/fax machine (though I won't be using the fax much...) and I will put it to use immediately! Since I have a FEW pages to edit for my SanityThief account on DeivantArt :) So until then.

Look forward to a photo update here, and maybe some on dA :D

F.L.A. - Day 12 2009

Sometimes, I really, really want to move out...

Ah today, Screamer didn't scream until about 11:30, which is when I got up. And I slumped around until 12:30, when I made cookies and then I watched the Y & R. Woah boy! It's getting exciting XD
Oh and my boy arrived in the mail today, my grandmother was home when the EMS guy came by and she signed off my parcel and now it waiting for me at home :B !!
Blech, so sometimes I find it really hard to tolerate some of my family members. My dad is usually fine, and actually I really do enjoy his company but the other two get me all frustrated.
My brother is so lazy. He NEVER does anything. Every night someone has to tell him to put his dish in the dishwasher and other things as SIMPLE as that, I mean, why can't he just do it? It pisses me off, but I try not to say anything.
And my mother, is absolutely terrific during the day. But at night all of a sudden she "hits the wall" and she's a completely different person, she's overly emotional and she makes stupid assumptions that I just want to kill her for. And she doesn't realise how she hurts me because she's not really "there", if you know what I mean.
I went for a walk by myself tonight, just a short one, and told myself, soon I will be out. I will (hopefully) have my own place. I just need a place where I can be alone for a while. I can meet people and stuff and hang out with them, but I need my own space.

F.L.A. - Day 11 2009

Days in Paradise flow swiftly by...

Spent the day on the beach, I'm practically eating my novel, Interview with the Vampire, I mean it, I'm devouring every word, every taste Anne Rice freely hands me.
Really there isn't too much to report, except there is this kid, who is asking for a killing. She's vacationing here at the resort this week...and every time she goes down the slide she screams at the top of her tongue, and she does this in intervals of five minutes over the course of the entire day. I mean, it can't be THAT scary, to go experience that kind of fear EVERY TIME she shoots down the slide...Unless of course there is an aligator at the bottom of the pool when she reaches the bottom, but if that were true, I would have pulled my kid out of the pool by now.
I repeat, this has been going on since FRIDAY and she starts screaming around 9:00 in the morning, and I don't want to get up until 11:00.
I just want to yell at her and tell her to shut up, or punch her voice box as she's sliding, that would work too.

I'm always glad to rant,
- M

F.L.A. - Day 10 2009

Another webcomic page done today...I need to do homework now...

I had a really nice view from where I was sitting by the pool today. Two 6'4" true red heads. If they weren't already dating and in college, I would have snagged the geeky looking one...I really wish I had had my camera with me so I could take a paparazzi shot and then post it in my room. Hey >.> don't look at me like that, it's not every day you see twin red heads that are really tall and really white. <3
Anyways, enough of the swooning. I spent the entire day at the pool and fried. That's right, I don't tan I boil. I get sunblisters and everything.
That's all I did.
I sat by the pool.
End of story.

p.s. Oh, I did take more sunset pictures to upload when I get home ^-^

F.L.A. - Day 9 2009

News!

I met Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) from the Y & R today at some outlet mall in Ft. Myers! We were near the end of the line and he had to catch a plane to New York, so I didn't get my picture taken WITH him, but my mom took a picture when he was signing my picture of his head. I went up to him, and the ladies in front of my were taking their sweet time and he was in a rush, so when I got up there the conversation went like this (no hi or anything):

Me: "Melissa, M-E-L-I-S-S-A"
Joshua: *surprised that I wasn't lolly-gagging* "Melissa?"
Me: *nods* "Yep"
Joshua: *signs the picture of his head* "You watch the Young and the Restless?" *surprised that I wasn't 50+ yrs. old*
Me: "Yeah" *smiles*
Joshua: "Rock on!" *hands picture to me*
Me: "Thanks!!"
Joshua: "You're very welcome!"

So, if anything, it was a LITTLE bit special :B
All the ladies taking photos on the other side of the caution tape were groaning because they didn't think I was the right age - since I wasn't old like them - and they kept giving me dirty looks...It was fun ^-^
I bought some PJ pants at Ralph Lauren...they are royal blue :D
I drew another page of Sanity Thief (Chapter 3 Page 1) and another filler picture, which will make an appearance later in the comic :D

Peachy-ness,

F.L.A. - Day 8 2009

We had visitors today...

Well today wasn't any special thing. I woke up, then I took the trolley to the 'village' of Captiva [the island where we're staying] and bought a Be As You Are t-shirt (they are just a company - small - that makes funny t-shirts with stick people on it - this one said "It's all fun and games until you get declined" <- as in credit card...anyways...) and then my mom and I went to Starbucks and I took the trolley home, and ate lunch.
Then we hit the beach and I really did absolutely nothing for like...an hour and a half.
Then some guests, the Lee's, visited us, as they have a trailer in Ft. Myers (an hour south of here), and we went out for dinner at a placed called Sunshine Seafood.
We came home, and I did the outline for the third chapter of my comic Sanity Thief (which is quite short I'm afraid. But quite eventful ^-^) and now I'm writing this blog.

Man the internet here...well its wireless...and lot's of people use it...it's really slow...

I will add the photos once I get home :)

F.L.A. - Day 7 2009

Wowwwiee...

So we finished that 1000 piece puzzle of Hot air baloons. It was quite the moment when we finished too...
I went to the beach today and had another strawberry daqueri (well virgin-esque it's strawberry SMOOTHIE - my mistake) and I wrote out the overview for the first four chapters of my webcomic. You will see that I have a MAJOR update on dA, as I have finished drawing chapter 2 of Sanity Thief. Also, during all this spare time, I've been writing up the backstories (in chapters) of my other OC's who will be making an appearance. So far, you only know of Stone, possibly Zeek (who is making an appearance too) and perhaps, the Maniacle Mr. Mihr (who you will meet in chapter 3), but there are four more characters after that who will soon be making an appearance as well. :)
I've also drawn five other drawings, though they are all related to Sanity Thief. And I can't upload them until you either meet that character or the drawing makes an appearance as a filler picture.

Anyways,
Until tomorrow.

F.L.A. - Day 6 2009

Wow okay, so today was a BUSY day...

It's my 17th birthday today! Whoopee! I don't feel like a 17 year old at all (my mental age is seriously lacking ^-^)
Thanks to all my friends who signed my wall on Facebook and a special thanks to my bestie for featuring me on dA...I forgot that I drew some of those things...
Anyways, on to the day!
I woke up this morning (early because cleaning service was coming) and my parents took us out for breakfast. I had a bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese and then I got to open my presnts...WHICH WERE FREAKIN' Amazing! My mom (and dad, though he only really got me the card) got me:
  • a blouse from Club Monaco - favorite store (though I already knew about it)
  • Tickets to go see Billy Joel and Elton John live in Concert <3333>
  • My brother tells me he has something for me, but it's at home (which may mean that there's nothing...but oh well...:D)
  • And my BJD was shipped out last night! Well with the time difference in Korea, they actually sent it out on my birthday - which was an amazing gift as well :D
I also got an apology letter from a guy who was an asshole to me at the beginning of the school year. That moment, when I read the letter was a turning point I have to say. Not only was it an apology, and I accepted it with gratitude, but he's also the first person who has ever done that for me. Everyone that it mean to me, gets up, leaves and never talks to me again. So bonus points for Andrew. - It was a shocker that one.
I went parasailing with my dad at 1:00 this afternoon, and I drew for the rest of the day and reread Demon Flowers Vol. 4 (my favorite series of all time) and I was sad to hear that the next volume (volume 5) is the series finale *cries*
My mom made dinner tonight, which was VERY good. And we had brownies and ice cream for dessert - since we couldn't find an ice cream cake.
We watched the sunset tonight. And I took some good pictures. So check my dA account when I get back for some artsy Sun-setting pictures, like usual!

Tomorrow won't be as good as today, I'm warning you now. But it may still be good!
- M the 17 year old girl :)

F.L.A. - Day 5 2009

I keep hearing about something called 'March Madness' I have a feeling that it's like Boxing Day, only in March...

Chill day once again. It was pretty much gray all day in Florida, so my mother and I passed away the time working on a 1000 piece puzzle that is a picture of hot air baloons. It'll give you a seizure if you stare at it for too long.
We went to a restaurant called Holy Smoke and picked up some ribs and a pulled pork sandwhich. After dinner my brother and I played frizbee and went out for some ice cream.
I keep checking my e-mail, awaiting the day Luts emails me and tells me my baby [BJD] is being shipped. It's been 7 weeks today since I ordered, and they have one more week until their time is up and I contact them again. But it sure would be nice if they would e-mail me before or on my birthday (since it IS a birthday present - to me...). Well, a girl can dream, can't she? It was a nice thought after all. I'm just getting ansty, that's all. I'm REALLY excited to get him.

F.L.A. - Day 4 2009

Happy St. Patty's day!

I really didn't do a whole lot today either... I woke up at 10:00 read a good cutsie manga called Shinobi Life - again, very cutsie, heart-wrenching, you get the idea. I will finish page 4 of Sanity Thief tonight and perhaps write some more OC stories for some upcoming characters *squee*.
It was kind of gray out today, my mom and I went on a short walk around the resort I'm staying in [called South Seas], and I signed up for parasailing with my dad for my birthday, which is on Thursday by the way.
I made more Tollhouse cookies, I learned how to play Yuker (or however you friggin' spell it) and I cannot wrap my head around it at all. AlsoI watched the Young and the Restless at lunch and yeah... this commercial came on for Fort Myers residents (Ft. Myers is near us) and there's a sale at some outlet mall, but of the Y & R characters was advertising, so I thought it would be really great to go down there and get my picture taken with him and put it on Facebook. LMFAO XD
We went to a restaurant called the Mucky Duck and drank some green beer and we ate in tonight for supper.

My mom and I pulled a 1000 piece puzzle out from underneath the TV set and we started putting that together...but I need a break, for now.
I think the best thing about today was that, on the way home from Mucky Duck, we stopped by a beach item store and bought a frizbee, which I had asked about. My brother, Calum, and I played frizbee on a patch of grass beside the beach. Finally I have a way to both do something physical (that I enjoy) and practice for this season's ultimate frizbee recreational sport team :D

'Till tomorrow, peace.

F.L.A. - Day 3 2009

A day of...nothing (once again -_-)!
I didn't sleep in much but I stayed inside all day. :D <- this is good news
I figured out my comic's story line, and I drew two more pages (well one and a half) and I drew a freestyle drawing as well (of one of my characters) - woot. This drawing will probably end up being a filler picture. [Yay, I always one of those]
I read some of Interview with the Vampire and I wrote out some of one of my character's back story.
His name is Vladislav Ivanov (well right now it is) and that's pretty much all I can tell you about him...so as to no spoilers. All this Russian history is exciting :B
I went to a placed called the Lazy Flamingo for dinner (or as my brother and I call it the Dirty Pot...*inside joke*) and it's well, like a Casey's or a Kelsey's underwater, even though it's not literally underwater...it just looks nautical.
Then we waited for EVER to get ice cream and it was melting down my hand when I waited. Some old lady gave me sass and I glared at her, and that was solved.
Anyways, I was told that I'm not allowed to stay inside all day anymore, so that's the end of bliss I guess.
Over.

F.L.A. - Day 2 2009

Another good day, in hot, sunny Florida.
I didn't do much today...I slept until 11:30 a.m. whilst everyone else was up and running, and their day had started at 6:00 a.m.
I made some Tolehouse cookies too...after lunch, which happened to be delicious by-the-way.
Then in the afternoon I went to the beach. I read a few pages of Interview with the Vampire - by Anne Rice, but basically talked ,y face off to my mom, who I hadn't seen in a week. I met Jaime, the bartender and got myself a strawberry daquari. Jaime is quite the 'surfer dude' let me tell you.
I came off the day with little blotches of sunburn, but managed to get by - XD
We had chicken/shrimp with tomatoes, feta cheese, olives and onions on pasta. Mhmmhm good.
Oh and I had Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream tonight too - which was also delicious.
I drew one picture this afternoon, and managed to come up with a story line - WOO.

F.L.A. - Day 1 2009

I have arrived! I'm finally here! My break from school has begun!

I got up this morning, left the house at 10:00 a.m. and hopped on my flight to Florida at 2:35 p.m. (right on time!) We got here at about 5:00 p.m. And it took us a good hour and a half to get over the 'Cosway' and onto Sanibel, then Captiva Island.
Being as OCD as usual I immediatly unpacked my bag and put my clothes and accessories away in the cupboards of my murphy-bed (to those of you who don't know what a murphy-bed is, it's a bed that comes out of a cupboard).
My brother ran as fast as he could to the putting green, to get in some golf before the sun went down and I caught up with my mom as we hadn't seen each other in a week and she wanted to know how school had been in my last week.
We had lamb-chops, beans and cucumber goat cheese salad for dinner and I dove into one of the four jugs of Arizona Iced Tea that we had in the cottage.
Even though I don't like the sun, the beach, fish, swimming or golfing, I am glad to be here. Glad to sleep, glad to draw and glad to just relax and clear my mind of the social drama.
Now I sit here, it's pitch black (because once the sun goes down, it goes down), I can here the cicadas and the breeze blowing the palm trees and I'm thinking how I am really looking forward to get back into my art again and read my two books (novels - Interview with the Vampire and No Water for Elephants).
I will update again tomorrow on the day's activities and updates on life. So see you then. Sleep well.

- M.
[how was that for positive thinking?]

March 10th, 2009

Hey there,
- So, I'm leaving for FLA for the March break for two weeks, leaving on the 14th. I may or may not post during those two weeks.
- BTW: My brother took a piece of cake from the fridge, scraped off the icing, ate the icing and put the cake back in the fridge. *ispissed*
- No sign of The Maniacle Mr. Mihr yet, so keep posted.
- No new art this week, but I'm packed and set to draw for the next two weeks straight. I will have a computer with me while I am away, so I will still be updating my Sanity Thief account on dA every Monday.
- My birthday is on Thursday March 19th :) I hope I get a surprise from someone (I mean, in my family), presents are fairly routine here. Both the Grandmas give me money (which I call my paycheck, save until years end and blow it at a convention - or this year I'm giving some to my mom to pay half of my birthday present - which is Mr. Mihr, if you were wondering), my parents (well Mom, Dad doesn't really have involvement) pick out some sort of clothing item and a surprise element and my brother sometimes doesn't get me anything at all XD.
- I got my blood taken today, not a big shocker, but I have to go in every 2 weeks to get it done. I went to the one in my home town, and then the 2nd time in the town where my school is located, and they jabbed my arm and missed and I got this gynormous bruise. So I went back to the first one, and they are a godsend :D
- Anyways, best be going. I only have two days of school left (YAY) and classes entail: Spare, World Religions (movie), English (Hamlet), Drama (presentations [Done mine]), Law (movie), Music (*shrugs*), Bio (Movie) and French (presentations [Done mine] and a movie). And no...my school is NOT semmmezturd.

February 28th 2009

So it's been a few weeks since I updated.
I had a good weekend in Quebec, and I've been back for a while, but I've been very busy with...things.
I created [another] blog for my arriving BJD - who's name is Silas. And he should be arriving in about...1-3 weeks. I will have all his info posted about him when he arrives.
Keep checking my dA accounts for updates! :D

February 10th, 2009

Okay, so.
I'm away from February 11th - 16th - I will be in Quebec city, and you may or may not get an update on how the trip's going.
I just wanted to let you guys know.
Hopefully I will be getting some artwork [and homework!!!] done there as well :)

Sunday, February 8, 2009

February 8th 2009

Ah!
So, I've been sick with pneumonia, that is my excuse for not updating in a while. Not much has happened. I've done one piece of art, and nothing else.
In the past two weeks I have watched:
  • Six Feet Under Season 4
  • Six Feet Under Season 5 [Ep. 1 & 2]
  • Disney's the Sword and the Stone
  • Jungle Book
  • Sleeping Beauty
  • 101 Dalmations
  • Lady & the Tramp
  • Mary Poppins

My room is kind of messy, so I should go clean it up. And I need to work on my law ISP, so I can hopefully hand it in tomorrow.

This is what I need to do artistically soon!

  • 2010 Calendar February
  • Scan my mandala
  • Draw ch.2 pg. 2 !! for Sanity thief [I have a new dA account for that BTW - www. sanitythief.deviantart.com - updates EVERY MONDAY with new page or new art related to the comic.]

Toodles.
